Dr. Sean, I think you only need 2 teaspoons Lycopene powder to obtain 500mg Lycopene carotenoid.
Here’s my computation:
From package label, serving size of Lycopene powder 200mg will provide 10mg Lycopene carotenoid
200mg : 10mg – this is the ratio as printed in the package label
5000mg: 1 tsp – this is the ratio that 1 teaspoon can hold of 5000mg of powder according to google
Dividing 5000mg by 200mg equals 25 which means a teaspoon can hold 25 times the serving size.
Filling the teaspoon with Lycopene powder will result to:
25 x 200mg(Lycopene powder) : 25 x 10mg(Lycopene carotenoid) – is also equivalent to
5000mg (also 1 teaspoon Lycopene powder) : 250mg(Lycopene carotenoid)
therefore 1 teaspoon can yield 250mg(Lycopene carotenoid) or in 2 teaspoons can yield 500mg(Lycopene carotenoid)
Don’t get your hopes up I took lycopene for years, see a urologist. Lycopene affected trips to urinate, but it did nothing that kept me from rising PSA numbers…and eventually having an MRI…and now a scheduled biopsy. There is no magic or silver bullet…see a doctor. Don’t put it off.
Wow… you’re promoting lycopene, and then show ketchup being put on a hot dog ?? Not very smart. STOP eating that garbage !!!
Highly processed meats, are part of the problem !!!
